Electra Hotels & Resorts Group is happy to announce the re-opening of Electra Palace Thessaloniki. The historic Thessaloniki hotel, which dominates the skyline of Aristotelous sq. since 1972 and is a timeless landmark of the city, re-opens its gates on Friday, July 17th. We are ready to welcome back guests from all over the world and, of course, the people of Thessaloniki.
The emblematic hotel closed down on January 23rd, 2020 to undergo a complete renovation and is now ready to re-open its gates to the city of Thessaloniki, renewed, upgraded and fully functional in record time during this unprecedented period. The full renovation of the building was a demanding process, from a technical and architectural standpoint. Thanks to the extensive experience of the construction company “Ergonomia”, dozens of technicians and specialized professionals worked intensively under the architectural supervision of Morpho Papanikolaou and Olivia Siskou, to produce an exemplary outcome.
All 138 modern rooms and suites, common spaces, meeting rooms, restaurants and cafés on the roof garden, as well as the hotel lobby, were designed and rebuilt from scratch, so that the end result will fully satisfy even the most demanding expectations of guests.
Moreover, ElectraPalaceThessaloniki fully conformed to all directives and regulations as a response to the Covid-19 pandemic, adhering to the highest hygiene and safety standards to ensure the safety of its guests and its staff.
The Electra Palace family invites Greek, international guests and the citizens of Thessaloniki, to discover the hotel’s new spaces, to enjoy a renewed culinary experience, to relax in our roof garden while absorbing the view of the Thermaic Gulf and, most of all, to experience the unique hospitality that we promise to deliver.
Mr. Yiannis Retsos, CEO of Electra Hotels & Resorts Group and President of the Greek Tourism Confederation (SETE), made the following statement: “Electra Palace Thessaloniki is an emblematic hotel of Thessaloniki, of high architectural value, synonymous with extroversion and the modern history of the city. Its complete renovation signifies a new era that both the hotel and Thessaloniki are entering. It’s an era in which the opening to new markets and the reshaping of the city’s tourism product will be combined with the completion of large-scale projects, such as the upgrade of the “Makedonia” airport. We believe that the unprecedented crisis we all face due to the Covid-19 pandemic, creates new needs and demands and will result in changes, however the positive outlook for tourism worldwide will not change in the near future. We feel proud that we managed, in a very short time, through a period of lockdown and extreme conditions, to bring back to the city of Thessaloniki a true gem. We invite Greek and international guests and, of course, the people of Thessaloniki to experience its hospitality firsthand, by enjoying their stay and leisure time with us”.
